Highland Senior HS OL Tristen Hoge (Pocatello, ID) is only heading into his junior season, but has already picked up offers from schools coast to coast. The talented O-lineman visited Boise State back during the spring for Junior Day, but are the Broncos in the mix?

"I visited Boise State in the spring," he said. "I went to their Junior Day and really enjoyed it," he added.

"I was a Boise State and BYU fan growing up," he stated. "They are the two local teams, so I was always a fan of them. In Idaho, Boise State is basically an NFL team since we don't have any pro sports. Everyone is a fan of them. I'd also say I grew up a Notre Dame fan too. I became a big fan of them after watching Rudy."

"Coach Pete and their coaching staff makes you feel comfortable," said Hoge. "They're all high-energy guys over there. They're a coaching staff that always wants you to be your best on and off the field."

Hoge has visited schools across the country, but says he'll be watching the two local schools this season as both remain in the mix.

"Boise State and BYU are two schools I'm still looking at," he said. "I'm excited to see how they do this year since both should have really good teams. Being a fan of both, I like seeing them do well."

"I'd say academics are probably the most important to me," said Hoge. "You can't play football forever and need a good education. The location is important too. It needs to be a place that feels like home. I also want to play with a competitive team that wants to win."

Hoge and his teammates have their first game this week and their goal for the season is to simply win a state championship.

"We're excited to start the season," he said. "We have a lot of young guys on the team this year, but all of them have bought-in and played well during camp. Our goal this year is to win a state championship and we have the talent to do that if we play as a team."

So, what does Tristen Hoge (6'5, 290) bring to the gridiron?

"I want to dominate every guy on the other team," he said. "My goal is to always dominate the other guy whether he's the first-string or second-string," he added.

BroncoCountry.com will continue to have updates on Tristen Hoge.
