Kyler Manu Knows

***FREE CONTENT*** Junior middle linebacker Kyler Manu was well aware Boise State would probably try to get his commitment during its Junior Day on Saturday. Having followed him for years and offered months ago, it only made sense for the Broncos. After hours of thought, the Pocatello Highland standout gave them his word and could not be happier about his decision.

"It was a long day, but a great day," said Kyler Manu, who has been recruited by Boise linebacker coach Andy Avalos since Manu's sophomore season. "I finally got to meet Coach (Bryan) Harsin, which was big. Every time we've visited, he's been away. It was good to sit down and talk with him about things."

Prior to the spring scrimmage, Harsin pulled Manu aside and told him to simply trust his feelings. "Coach Harsin mentioned how he wanted to keep all the Idaho talent in Idaho," Manu said. "He told me to be 100% sure, whether that I was with them or not. He told me I'd feel it in my heart and ‘Once you know, you'll know.'"

Having grown up loving all things blue and orange, he wanted to attend a school which would allow his family to see him play. Following Harsin's counsel, Manu went home, consulted his family and followed his heart.

"My mom said she didn't care where I played so long as it was close enough for her to come see me," said Manu, who didn't want to let another day go by and gave Avalos his verbal at 12:05 a.m. "My father loves BSU. We all do."

"I want to be a Bronco."

During his junior season, Manu recorded 92 tackles and was named 1st Team All-State, 1st Team All-District and District Defensive Player of the Year as the Rams reached the 5A championship game. He expects to play the weak-side "Will" linebacker.
