History!

Emma Bates finished fourth in the 5,000 today in Eugene, Oregon, clinching a national Top 10 finish for the Boise State women.

The Boise State women's track team has made history. The Broncos finished eighth in the nation today at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon. The Broncos compiled 23 team points, second in the West only to hometown Oregon's 59 points.

Texas A&M came away with the team title with 75 points to 66 for runner-up Texas. Oregon was third, followed by SEC powers Florida (55 points), Georgia (35 points), LSU (34 points) and Kentucky (26 points). Then you have the Broncos, Arkansas with 21.50 and Akron with 20.

The achievement was not just the first time a Boise State women's track team finished in the national Top 10, but the first time a Bronco women's team has finished in the National Top 10 in any sport.

Congratulations to the Lady Broncos--we are extremely proud of you!
