Marquis Hendrix Focus Is On Boise

At this point, Marquis Hendrix's commitment to Boise State appears to be nothing more than a formality. The Trinity Catholic High School (Ocala, Fla.) linebacker received an offer from the Broncos earlier this week, a scholarship with one stipulation.

"I'm pretty much committed, but I have to visit there," Marquis Hendrix said. "My offer is contingent on me visiting this weekend."

In the past two weeks, three Boise State coaches have visited the 6-foot, 225-pound linebacker. The blue and orange activity in Ocala is a give-away that the Broncos are very high on Hendrix.

"I've been in contact with Boise State for a couple of weeks now," he said. "All of my focus is on Boise State right now.

"I like the coaches a lot. I love coach (Bryan) Harsin, coach (Mike) Sanford and coach (Andy) Avalos. All three of them have come to visit me. I really like them. I can't wait to see the campus."

Even with offers from Cincinnati, Appalachian State, Memphis and Texas State, Hendrix has had his eye on the Broncos for quite some time.

"I've been watching Boise State since I was little," he said. "When they were in the first BCS bowl game I watched them beat Adrian Peterson and Oklahoma. I always enjoy watching them play."

The three-star prospect will fly out of Central Florida Friday morning for his visit to the City of Trees.
