Boise State Women Win Mountain West

Boise State completed an amazing run to defeat #2 seed New Mexico and capture the Mountain West Conference Championship, their first conference title since 2007.

Boise State broke open a close game in the second half, then hung on to preserve a 66-60 win over New Mexico and the 2015 Mountain West Conference Basketball Championship this afternoon in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Click Here Point guard Yaiza Rodriguez sparked the victory with 18 points, including 7-8 from the free-throw line, and 4 assists as the Lady Broncos captured their first conference title since 2007, when Boise State played in the Western Athletic Conference.  Brooke Pahukoa poured in 16 points and had 5 rebounds.  Both were named to the All-Mountain West Tournament Team, and Pahukoa was named Most Valuable Player.

Miquelle Askew battled the strong Lobo inside presence and also hit 4-5 from the field and 4-5 from the free-throw line for 12 points.  The jubilant ladies were honored by the crowd and presented with the Mountain West trophy, then took part in a festive net-cutting ceremony.

Boise State awaits word on their seed and first-round opponent in next week's NCAA Tournament.
