Maston's Return a Big Plus for Bronco Defense

Experience is an important factor, and the return of defensive back Mercy Maston has stimulated healthy competition at the nickel position.

After a redshirt season, Mercy Maston returns to the Boise State defense this fall and is competing for a starting spot at the safety/nickel position.

Maston was a major contributor to the 2013 Bronco team, earning four starts and registering 44 tackles.  But an injury last season caused Mercy to miss the first half of the year, at which point he decided to redshirt rather than come back for the last few games.  Maston is more than eager to hit the field and show what he can do.

Maston and Chanceller James are fighting for that spot at the nickel.  Boise State hosts the University of Washington Friday, September 4 in Albertsons Stadium.
