Bronco BB Player Dezmyn Trent Arrested

Boise State Basketball player Dezmyn Trent was arrested early this morning in his hometown of Tacoma WA & charged with Felony Drive-By-Shooting. As a result of the arrest, Boise State announced this afternoon that Trent has been removed from the Boise State Basketball Program, effective immediately. With that charge, Trent currently faces up to 10 years in prison & a $20,000.00 fine.

Dezmyn Trent would have been a Junior for Boise State in 2015, but with his dismissal he leaves the Broncos with 2 open scholarships for the 2015-16 season.

There was much speculation that Trent may not return to the team after the 2014-15 season given his lack of playing time and the addition of more highly regarded recruits at his position in Paris Austin and Malek Harwell, but all signs indicate that Trent was set to return to Boise before his arrest.

Trent played Guard for the Broncos, but was used sparingly as both a Freshman and Sophomore, partially due to injuries. Last season his per game average was 3.5 points and 9 minutes, but he only saw action in 11 games.

Originally from Tacoma Washington's Henry Foss Senior High School, Trent joined the Bronco after committing in March of 2013. He had a stellar High School career that culminated in a Senior season where he averaged 27 points per game.

Not much is known about the incident at this time, but we'll keep you updated as more facts come to light.
