Lewis Aiming To Become A Regular Starter

Bronco lineman Archie Lewis has been working hard to win a spot on the starting offensive line. He spoke with the local media about his progress.

Archie Lewis is one of several returning Boise State offensive linemen with starting experience, a strong point for the 2015 Bronco football team.

Lewis, who earned five starts in the middle of last season, is battling for a starting spot on the Bronco offensive front.  Lewis is listed on the Boise State two-deep along with junior Steven Baggett for a spot at right tackle.

Lewis has been working at several positions, trying to find a spot in the starting lineup.  Lewis said that coach Scott Huff has told the group that "the most physical five are the five who are going to play."

Lewis, who has gained 55 pounds since coming on campus, said "I feel just as quick as when I was 240."

Lewis had one scholarship offer (from New Mexico State) before Boise State became interested.  The Aggies pulled the scholarship from Lewis in favor of someone else, and that is when the Broncos secured his services.  He acknowledged that the lack of interest from other schools leaves him with a chip on his shoulder, and said he was working as hard as he can to prove them wrong.
