SPOKANE, Washington--Boise State fell to #10 Washington 25-15, 25-23, 25-19 this afternoon at the Northwest Volleyball Challenge in Spokane, Washington.
Washington assumed control of the first set early on the way to a 25-15 win. Boise State had the momentum in the ensuing set, taking a lead of 14-8. But the Huskies went on an 8-1 run to take the lead 16-15. The two teams traded points until Boise State came up short, 25-23. The Lady Broncos rallied from a 14-10 deficit in the third set to tie the score at 15, but the Huskies regained the upper hand to win 25-19 and clinch the match.
The Broncos held leads in both the second and third sets before coming up short. Sierra Nobley had 18 kills to lead the Broncos, which slipped to 1-1 on the season.
"Washington was tough to beat today," said coach Shawn Garus. "They have a lot of weapons and we struggled to play consistent."
Maddy O'Donnell recorded nine kills, seven digs and one block, while Maddi Osburn had 13 digs and Sarah baught recorded her second double-double of the season with 31 assists and 11 digs.
