Derrion Grim's Big Game Nets Nebraska Offer

When McNair High School (Stockton, Calif.) receiver Derrion Grim committed to Boise State back in April, he was a relative unknown in the recruiting. Boise State was not only the first to offer him, they were his only offer when he committed. Then he scored a touchdown on the opening kickoff Friday night to get McNair's 2015 season started with a bang. And then he scored again, six more times...

Derrion Grim took the opening kickoff of his senior season back for am 89-yard touchdown. Then he found the end zone six more times.
It turns out seven touchdowns in one game will turn some heads.
Hours later, Grim received a phone call. On the line was a coach from the University of to offer him a scholarship.
"I was so excited when I got it," Grim said of the offer from the Cornhuskers. "I was speechless talking to the coaches."
He says the weekend success and subsequent attention from Nebraska settled in pretty quickly, but that he's still on cloud nine.
"I actually thought about it all Saturday," Grim said. "All that was going through my head was just thanking God after every TD and pulling out the win with my teammates!"
If the 6-foot, 183-pound athlete continues his torrid pace, his recruitment will continue to blow up. He holds additional offers from Fresno State, Eastern Washington, Sacramento State and UNLV.
"I didn't expect it (to blow up) at all," Grim said.
Despite the Nebraska offer he says he remains solid with Boise.
"I'm still with Boise," he said. "(I) haven't been to Nebraska so I still have to figure it out."
Grim plans on visiting Boise for a game this fall, and at this point has no other plans for other visits, but if his season continues on this trajectory, that could change.
