The emergence of wide receiver Thomas Sperbeck last season (51 catches for 877 yards and three touchdowns) helped Boise State advance to the Fiesta Bowl, where they topped #10 Arizona.
Now, Sperbeck and the Boise State receivers will be counted on to help new starting quarterback Ryan Finley by blocking well to help the Bronco running game, running crisp, precise pass routes, and making the difficult catches that will help Finley gain confidence.

Sperbeck believes the offensive mistakes made in the season-opening win over Washington can be fixed: "It's an easy thing to correct, just tweak a few things around, and we'll be fine," he said.
Sperbeck and the Broncos will need to be at their best--the last time Boise State ventured to Provo, Utah for a game with BYU (in 2013), the Cougars won 37-20.
The Broncos compiled a 3-2 road record last season, and Sperbeck said the Broncos need to have a "road warrior" mentality. Sperbeck used a SWAT team analogy: "Just do what you need to do, take care of business, and come home," he said.
Boise State will meet BYU Saturday with the kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. Mountain Time.
