The last two seasons, Jay Ajayi carried the load rushing the ball for Boise State. Although three Broncos performed admirably against Washington last Friday, sophomore Jeremy McNichols proved to be something of a workhorse himself with 24 carries for 89 yards.
Although Boise State's offense was slowed nearly to a halt in the second half, McNichols isn't worried. "It's not going to happen again," he said.

McNichols, who has earned the nickname "McWeapon", proved his versatility with three receptions out of the backfield for 24 yards. McNichols has considerable experience catching the football, having played three years as a receiver at Santa Margarita High School in Long Beach, California. Jeremy burst onto the scene last season as a true freshman for Boise State, rushing 17 times for 159 yards (9.4 yards per carry) and a touchdown.
With the Broncos notching a win in week one, Boise State travels to BYU this Saturday for a game with the Cougars. McNichols knows the Broncos will be facing a tough environment: "We expect a great crowd from them, coachable guys, (and) a great coach on the other side of the field. Their defense is very aggressive and they run to the ball and they hustle," McNichols said.
Boise State meets BYU in Provo with the kickoff scheduled for 8:15 Saturday night.
