All week long, Boise State head volleybacll coach Shawn Garus preached aggressiveness to his team, and it seems the listened to him.
Boise State scored a 19-25, 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 15-10 win over host North Texas in the North Texas Invitational tonight in Denton.
Sophomore Sierra Nobley was on fire for the Lady Broncos with 26 kills, even outpacing Carnae Dillard, who is ranked third in the nation in that department. Nobley added a career-high 20 digs on the evening.
Garus also had his team working on their digs, and that paid off as well this evening. Maddi Osburn had 37 digs, third-highest in school history.
Garus was concerned about Dillard, and the Bronco defense performed spectacularly against Dillard, limiting her attack percentage (kills minus errors/total attacks) to just .90%. Freshman Reece Carman had 10 kills for the Broncos and junior Maddy O'Donnell had eight.
Boise State, now 4-3 on the season, takes on Houston tomorrow at noon Mountain Time, before meeting Abilene Christian at 3:30.
