When Ryan Finley left the Boise State game against Idaho State early with an injury, Boise State turned to Tommy Stuart and Brett Rypien.

Boise State's shutout victory over Idaho State was bitter-sweet as the Broncos lost their starting QB on the way to their 52-0 win. When Ryan Finley left the Boise State game against Idaho State early with an injury, the Broncos turned to Tommy Stuart and Brett Rypien, who combined to lead the Broncos to the lopsided win.

The extent of Ryan Finley's injury isn't known yet, but it was bad enough that he had to be helped off the field and was unable to walk unassisted back to the lockerroom for x-rays. When he did return to the sideline, it was with the aid of crutches.

Head Coach Bryan Harsin said the extent of the injury wouldn't be known until Sunday, but speculation is heavy that Finley will miss at least the next few weeks, if not longer. While that doesn't bode well for the Sophomore QB, the Boise State offense was humming against Idaho State with backup QB's Thomas Stuart and Brett Rypien.

Stuart went 9/13 for 69 yards and a Touchdown and 46 yards rushing.

Rypien went 8/9 for 126 yards, and had a Bronco season long completon of 46 yards to Thomas Sperbeck and a 206.5 QB rating.

Whichever way Boise State goes, both QB's earned the chance for further playing time in Ryan Finley's absence.

We'll have more from the game, and the extent of Ryan Finley's injury, as soon as it becomes available.
