The Boise State women's cross country team surprised the nation in winning the prestigious Roy Griak Invitational with 37 points. The Broncos dominated the field, as second place Michigan State totaled 116 points.
Host Minnesota finished third with 141 points followed by Weber State with 147 and California with 169.
True freshman Allie Ostrander finished second individually on the 6-kilometer course with a time of 21:10, while Annie Bothma was right behind with 21:19. Minttu Hukka finished sixth with a time of 21;34, while freshman Brenna Peloquin finished 10th 21:46).
Michael Vennard (24:58) finished third in the men's competition to lead Boise State to a sixth-place finish in the 8-kilometer race.
