MONTREAL, Quebec, Canada--Former Boise State linebacker Winston Venable is enjoying a great season for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
Through 12 games, Venable has 61 tackles to lead the Montreal defense and ranks fifth in the CFL in that category. Venable also has three sacks and a fumble recovery for Montreal.
Venable, who played one season with the Chicago Bears of the National Football League, had 53 tackles for Boise State in 2010, fourth on the team, with 9.5 tackles-for-loss and 5.5 sacks. Winston's interception against TCU sealed victory for the Broncos over the Horned Frogs in the 2010 Fiesta Bowl.
