BOISE, Idaho--Eight games featuring four league games are on the docket for Mountain West Conference football games today. Boise State and Hawai'i both open their Mountain West seasons tonight at 8:15 in Albertsons Stadium. Here is a complete look at action today (all times Mountain):
1:30 p.m.: Wyoming (0-4) plays at Appalachian State (2-1) The Cowboys have had a rough go of it so far this season, and Wyoming is a 25.5-point underdog this afternoon.
1:30: Air Force (2-1) travels to 3-0 Navy Navy is now in the American Athletic Conference, and risks its perfect record against a talented Air Force team.
2:00: San Jose State (2-2) plays at SEC foe Auburn (2-2). The vast majority of Associated Press writers and sportscasters ranked Auburn high in their preseason Top 25 polls. Adam Zucker, Eric Avidon and Rob Long were the farthest from reality, placing Auburn at #2, but those three were not the only AP voters fooled. A staggering 49 AP voters ranked the Tigers in their preaseason Top 10. Those prognostications have not worked out well, as the Tigers have dropped consecutive games to LSU (45-21) and Mississippi State (17-9). San Jose State, however, is a decided underdog in this afternoon's game.
5:00: UNLV (1-3) at Nevada (2-2) The rivalry continues in Reno tonight as the disappointing Revels face the Wolf Pack.
5:00: Colorado State (2-2) is at Utah State (1-2) in a key early-season matchup. Odds makers have made the Aggies a 4-point favorite.
6:00: New Mexico State (0-3) plays at New Mexico (2-2) New Mexico is a 12-point favorite tonight.
8:15: Hawai'i (2-2) at Boise State (3-1) The Broncos look to bolster their offensive line performance and hope to build on momentum from the Virginia game. Hawai'i has shown tenacity on defensive, having made it tough on Ohio State and Wisconsin.
8:30: Fresno State at San Diego State Both teams are 1-3; Fresno State has lost their quarterback and is a 7.5-point underdog.
