BOISE, Idaho--Terrell Johnson has won a job as Boise State's kickoff returner after impressing the Bronco coaches Saturday night against Hawai'i.
"He annointed himself the starter on that return," Boise State head coach Bryan Harsin said of the 5-9, 173-pound wide receiver from Saddleback Junior College. "That was his shot. He did a good job--that's one of our best returns we've had."
Johnson, named as the Boise State Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year last year, has played in but because of his work in practice, he was placed on the kickoff return team Saturday and posted a 27-yard return to open the second half.
"We've seen him in practice and he's a guy that we think can give us a little spark back there," Harsin said.
