Boise State Broncos Soccer Player Brooke Heidemann Wins Mountain West Conference Player of the Week Honor

Brooke Heidemann's three goals last week impressed the Mountain West coaches.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado--Boise State senior Brooke Heidemann is the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Heidemann carried the Broncos to wins over UNLV and Nevada with three goals and an assist as the Broncos won by a combined score of 7-1.  This is the first award for Heidemann this season and the third of her career, making her the first Bronco to win a weekly offensive award in three different seasons (2013, 2014 and 2015).  Goalkeepers Kim Parker and Liz Ruiz each won defensive player of the week awards in three different seasons.

Heidemann scored a goal and had an assist in a 4-0 win over UNLV Friday, then scored the first two goals of the match Sunday to help Boise State defeat Nevada 3-1.

Heidemann leads the Mountain West in scoring with 12 points in conference play, and her five goals in MW play are tied for first.

Boise State hosts Colorado College Friday at 4 at the Boas Soccer Complex, then entertains Air Force on Senior Day Sunday at 1 p.m.
