The Boise State Bronco Women are 9th in Today's NCAA D1 Cross Country Poll, While The Bronco Men Are 16th

The Boise State cross country team which we previewed in August as "a program on the rise" continues to make inroads. In the new national poll which came out today, both Bronco teams are ranked in the Top 25.

On August 27th, BroncoCountry told you that the Boise State cross country team was "a program on the rise".  Bronco fans are beginning to see what we meant, and the potential that Coach Corey Ihmels has given the program:

NEW ORLEANS--The Boise State women fell three spots in today's USTFCCCA National Coaches Poll despite finishing sixth at the prestigious Wisconsin Invitational last Friday, an event which featured 20 of the nation's top 25 women's teams.  Meanwhile, the Bronco men debuted in the Top 25 at #16.  That represents the Boise State men's highest ranking since 1996, when they finished #8 in the country.

The Bronco men finished 11th at that same Wisconsin Invitational, apparently opening some eyes across the nation.  Coach Corey Ihmels' team had received votes in every preceding poll this season, but today marks the first time the Broncos were ranked in the Top 25.

The Boise State women are ranked second in the West Region (trailing only Oregon), while the men are #3.

The Broncos are preparing for the Mountain West Cross Country Championships, scheduled for Friday, October 30 in Reno, Nevada.
