COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado--Boise State senior setter Sarah Baugh has been named Mountain West Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today. Baugh helped Boise State sweep Nevada (3-1) and San Diego State (3-2) to extend the Broncos' winning streak to six.
Baugh averaged 53 assists in the two matches and hit 34.2% for the week. She averaged .67 kills, 1.67 digs and .56 blocks last week. In Boise State's first-ever road victory at San Diego State, Baugh's one block of the match was a big one. With the Aztecs holding a 15-14 lead in the fifth and decisive fifth set and serving for match point, Baugh teamed with Kaitlyn Oliver to block the point and keep the Broncos alive. Boise State finished the set with three consecutive points to win 17-15.
Entering play this week, Boise State is 6-2 in the Mountain West and in second place. The Broncos host #20 Colorado State Thursday night in Bronco Gym at 7, then entertain Wyoming Saturday afternoon at 2.
