BOISE, Idaho--The Boise State swimming and diving team travels to Utah for two meets, beginning with a triangular hosted by Utah and continuing tomorrow for a dual match with BYU.
This evening at 5, Boise State meets Utah and Florida Gulf Coast. Boise State is ranked #34 in CollegeSwimming.com's Top 50, while Florida Gulf Coast is #30 and Utah is 42. Florida Gulf Coast won its sixth Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association title in seven years last season, while Utah was sixth at the Pac-12 Swimming and Diving Championships last year.
Boise State opened the 2015 season with a 185-148 win over Idaho earlier this month, the debut for new Bronco head coach Jeremy Kipp.
Boise State holds three of the top times in the Mountain West in the early going. Sam Wicks' time of 56.16 in the 100-yard backstroke leads the league, as does Emma Chard's time of 4:54.88 in the 200 freestyle. The Bronco team of Wicks, Laura Williams, Brittany Aoyama and Katelyn Martin has the top time in the 400 medley relay (3:48.66).
The Broncos and Cougars tangle tomorrow afternoon at noon in Provo.
