BOISE, Idaho--Boise State is #11 in the first set of fall standings for the Learfield Directors' Cup, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America announced today.
Boise State finished 11th and 16th, respectively, in women's and men's cross country, and accumulated 124.50 points.
The Directors' Cup awards a trophy each school year to the school with the overall top athletic program. Points are awarded based on finishes in up to 20 sports in Division 1--ten men's and ten women's.
The Boise State volleyball team was in line for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament, which would have given the Broncos more points this month, finishing the regular season with an RPI of #43. However, the NCAA bypassed Boise State and selected four teams ranked below them.
The Boise State football team failed to reach the national Top 25, and the Bronco soccer team finished sixth in the Mountain West.
