BOISE, Idaho--Christmas comes a little early for selected college football teams, and that day is today.
Throughout the day, beginning with the announcement of the NCAA FBS playoff teams, and continuining through the bowl pecking order, we will begin to fill in the puzzle that is the college football bowl season.
#1 Clemson will face #4 Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl while #2 Alabama takes on #3 Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl. Those two winners will meet in the national championship game the following week in Glendale, Arizona.
Oklahoma State will play Mississippi in the Sugar Bowl, and we know that Stanford will play Iowa in the Rose Bowl. And just announced, Notre Dame vs. Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl and Houston vs. Florida State in the Peach.
Following the completion of the New Year's Six Bowl announcements, the plethora of bowl committees will make their matchup announcements. We can also begin to fill in the bowl pairings from the bottom, as these teams have accepted bids to plaly in the following bowl games:
