Boise State Special Teams Coach Kent Riddle Expects Physical Battle from the Northern Illinois Huskies

Coach Kent Riddle is busy getting the Bronco special teams ready for Northern Illinois.

BOISE, Idaho--Boise State special teams coach Kent Riddle is preparing his unit for the upcoming Poinsettia Bowl matchup with Northern Illinois.  He took time out to talk to the local media tonight.

"I feel good about the preparation," Riddle said.  "The guys have been working hard.  It's great to get some of these guys back healthy again, and get closer to a full crew out there."

Riddle and the Broncos meet Northern Illinois in the Poinsettia Bowl December 23 in San Diego, California.  Riddle sees a talent team in the Huskies:  "They're a big, physical, tough team.  They're well-coached; they do things right.  They compete on every rep."

Riddle was particularly impressed with NIU's kickoff units:  "They have an excellent returner on kickoffs--the guy's as good as we've seen.  He has great speed and agility and can run away from you.  Their kickoff coverage unit is exceptional."

The Broncos and Huskies meet next Wednesday at 2:30 PM Mountain Time.
