Colorado Springs, Colorado--The Boise State men's basketball team will travel to play Evansville next season in the Mountain West/Missouri Valley Challenge, the conferences announced today. It will be the second in a four-year arrangement between the leagues.
Boise State will play Evansville December 3, 2016. The two teams have met once before, in the quarterfinals of the 2011 College Basketball Invitational. Boise State won 75-69 at Taco Bell Arena.
Evansville defeated Fresno State 85-77 Sunday in the final game of this season's Challenge.
The Mountain West has won three of five previous Challenges, with one ending in a tie. Overall, the MW holds a 28-17 advantage in games played in association with the series. The Challenge Series featured head-to-head competition between teams in the two conferences.
