Boise State Broncos Men's Tennis Team One of Eight Programs in the Nation With 17 20-Win Seasons Since 1987

Legendary Boise State men's tennis coach Greg Patton just keeps on winning...

BOISE, ID--On the strength of last night's dramatic come-from-behind victory over San Diego State to give the Boise State tennis team its 20th victory of the season, legendary coach Greg Patton is largely responsible for guiding the program to 17 20-win seasons since 1987.  Boise State is one of only eight teams in the nation to achieve that level of success in the last 30 years.

Duke, Georgia, Ohio State, Pepperdine, Stanford, USC and UCLA are the other elite tennis programs in the same company as the Broncos.

Patton, who has served two stints as the head man for the Broncos (1992-1998 and 2002 to the present), is responsible for 14 of those 20-win seasons, including the phenomenal 1996-97 season in which Boise State was 30-4 and was ranked #4 in the nation.

In addition, Patton has led Boise State to a 21-7 record in 1995, 24-8 in 1996, 24-9 in 1998, 24-8 in 2004, 31-8 in 2005, 21-7 in 2006, 30-6 in 2007, 21-12 in 2008, 24-9 in 2009, 26-7 in 2012, 20-12 in 2013, 28-5 in 2014 and 20-9 this season.  Boise State posted its other 20-win seasons under Chris Langdon (20-7 in 1987 and 27-8 in 1988) and Jim Moortgat (23-7 in 2000).

Counting the two wins thus far in the Mountain West Championships this spring, Boise State has amassed an 89-36 record in conference tournaments dating back to 1982 and has played in 17 title matches since that time.  The Broncos are 15-2 in conference championship matches, including a 13-2 mark under Patton.
