Tyler Pelluer recently spoke with TheInsiders.com's National Recruiting guru Allen Wallace, (formerly of SuperPrep.com), to discuss his college thoughts thus far into the season.
At 6-2 210, Tyler Pelluer has the size and quickness that recruiters look for in a football player. He was honorable mention all-KingCo 3A on both sides of the ball as a Junior, and has some amazing bloodlines, as he is the nephew of former Washington State Cougar Arnie, former Husky quarterback Steve, and his father is former Cougar and current Washington Coach Scott Pelluer.
He plays both tailback and linebacker for Issaquah (Wash.) Skyline, but his current focus is on defense. "My future is at linebacker," said Pelleur. Just this summer, Tyler was named Defensive MVP of the ultra-competitive Big Kahuna 7-on-7 Passing Challenge in Burnaby British Columbia. Pelluer is not the only Skyline Athlete being recruited by Boise State, he joins offensive lineman Dan Johnson (6'4 275lbs) as athletes the Broncos are looking at from one of Washington's best teams.
Pelluer has heard from most of his favorites, a list that includes Washington, Stanford, Oregon State, Boise State, and Montana. And although he has no official offers from any those schools, he does currently claim offers from both the Air Force Academy and Army.
Pelluer indicated that Washington leads his list of favorites, (not surprisingly given his location and with his father a coach there), but that Boise State is right up there with them.
"I lived in Boise for six years as a kid and I've always liked Boise St. It is a cool school and they have the longest winning streak in the nation right now. It would be fun to go to school there. They have a great attitude on offense and defense, and they play a great style of football.
Through the first 5 games of the season, Pelluer's Issaquah WA's Skyline team is 4-1, and Tyler himself has 60 tackles, with 10 Tackles For a Loss, 2 sacks, and 1 Fumble recovery. He boasts a 3.6gpa, and has already gotten a 1120 on his SAT's.
