Early Christmas in Boise?

Chris McGaha has already got enough letters from colleges to wallpaper his bedroom. He has official offers from 3 Pac-10 Schools, 4 MWC Schools, and even a Big-12 School. Yet with all that interest, McGaha has only set 3 visits. Boise State is one, but what chance do the Bronco have? You might be surprised...

Chris McGaha, (Moon Valley HS, Phoenix Arizona), will be visiting Boise State on December 18th. McGaha is a big, fast, talented WR out of Arizona who has turned in incredible numbers already this season, 43 catches for 856 yards and 12 TDs plus 2 other TD's on returns. That's a pretty good career in an of itself, but as a Junior, he was first team all-state as a wide receiver and kick returner. He was also first team all-region at receiver, kick returner, and defensive back. He tallied 37 catches for 750 yards and eight touchdowns. He had an astounding 1,280 yards in kickoff returns, and on defense, he totalled 65 tackles and seven interceptions.

Those type of numbers have brought the Colleges out of the woodworks looking to secure McGaha's services for the next 4 years. With a list of scholarship offers as long as your arm already, (Arizona State, Arizona, Utah, Boise State, Wyoming, San Diego State, Colorado, Washington and UNLV.), he has set only 3 visits thus far, Boise State on 12/18/04 San Diego State on 12/11/04 Arizona on 1/8/05.

When it comes to choosing a school, McGaha is undecided on what factors will matter the most. For example, he told DevilsDigest.com that staying close to home or venturing out of state is an issue that he was still unsure of. "I have no idea right now," he said. "I want to take my visits and see if I want to go to school somewhere else or stay close to home. I do want to commit soon, but I really can't until I take my visits and see what's out there."

What does bode well for the Broncos is his answer to the question of which factors would sway him to pick one school over the other, he answered: "Coaching staff. How the team is doing now, and how do I think they'll do in the future. Just basic stuff like that."

If it does come down to Coaching Staff, then the Broncos could very well have the inside track. We'll keep an eye on Chris for sure and hope for an early Christmas in Boise!
