Idaho's Home-Grown Talent

As we all know, Boise State's success can be directly traced back to some of the local/Idaho recruits who join the Broncos, either as walkons or as scholarship athletes from the start.
Each recruiting season we scour the news and recruiting reports to see who might be the next Brock Forsey, or Jeb Putzier, or in this year's case, Tyler Jones, Colt Brooks, TJ Acree, or Jeff Carpenter, and that's not even considering local athletes who join the Broncos as scholarship athletes...

Scout.com's recruiting analysts have created a list of the top 20 recruits in Idaho, and the list is a great starting point, however every year there are some recruits who go under the radar. Recruits who aren't as well known. Nobody knew about TJ Acree when he walked on the Bronco team in 2000. No doubt anyone who has watched any of the Bronco games since the Fort Worth Bowl last year knows about him. Same with Korey Hall, he had 1 offer coming out of High School.. but he was an All-WAC Linebacker as a Sophomore last year.

No doubt there are some similar stories that will be played out over the next couple of years with recruits that are either on the squad right now, or with some that will be joining the team in either this summer, or in August. There are some names that easily pop out at you, Nick Schlekeway, playing as a True Freshman over bigger and older palyers. Tad Miller, starting at LG all season long. Colt Brooks, going from Walkon to starter at Linebacker alongside fellow Idahoan Korey Hall. (Could we see a Luke Dixon trifecta next year?)

Looking into the future there are some names to watch for next season already, Brody Miller of Twin Falls was a force as a Junior, rushing for 2,169 yards and scoring 32 touchdowns, and Cody Hawkins had a superior season leading BK to a state championship.. we might have an inside track on this QB as well.

As for this year, here are some names to watch for apart from the 20 listed by the experts:
