American Idols

Being a student-athlete is not easy. To excel on the field, on the court, on the track or on the mats, there are many demands on your time. To be one of the top athletes as well as carry a 3.2 or higher G.P.A. is amazing. These Boise State athletes deserve our recognition and praise!

Twenty Boise State student-athletes have been excelling in the classroom as well as in their respective sports.  A total of 194 fall student-athletes were named to the list. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's contests. For comparison, no Boise State men's cross country members made the list (Rice had 6), Boise State and Tulsa were the only women's cross country teams that had only 1 to make the list, Boise State's 8 football players tied for 3rd in the WAC with Fresno State (Rice led the league with 14 players and Tulsa had 10), the 7 women's soccer players for Boise State was tied with Tulsa for 2nd (Rice had 8) while Boise State's 4 volleyball players was right in the middle of the pack in the WAC (Rice had 6).

Congratulations to these Bronco academic stars!
