Broncos Advance in WAC Tourney

<p>Bronco Senior Jason Ellis, playing in what could have been his last game for Boise State, had a monster game, pulling down 21 rebounds and going for 22 points against a suddenly hot Tulsa team.</p><p>The 21 rebounds is a new WAC Tourney record, beating the old record of 19.</p>

The Broncos, led by Jason Ellis, jumped out quickly on Tulsa hitting seven of their eight 3-pointers in the first half and led 51-32 at halftime.

The second half was more evenly matched, but the Broncos were still able to pull out the 10-point win 73-83.

Also having good games for the Broncos were Jermaine Blackburn, with 15 points, and Eric Lane with 14.

The Broncos (14-17) are peaking at the best time, going 5-3 over their past 8 games, with 2 of those losses to WAC leaders UTEP and Nevada. They shot 43.9% from the floor against Tulsa.

They now face hometown favorite and Nationally ranked WAC leading Nevada in the Quarter finals on Thursday evening.
