Bronco Ski Team Competes in MSU Invitational

Boise State's women's ski team is struggling up north. With one day to go in the Montana State Invitational, the best individual finish thus far is 18th.


The Bronco women's ski team is in the midst of competition at the Montana State Invitational. Five Broncos were in action in two different venues Saturday with the event continuing today.

Alpine skiers took 18th, 22nd and 37th in the Giant Slalom at the Big Sky Resort. Zuzana Charvatova finished in 18th place with a two-run time of 2 minutes, 3.72 seconds. Anuliisa Oesterlund was 22nd in 2:05.52 while Jacqueline Martain was 37th in a time of 2:13.78. Colorado's Lucie Zikova took first with a time of 1:59.13.

Boise State's Nordic skiers also raced on Saturday at Bohart Ranch. In the 5,000 meters, April Sanders was 47th with a time of 24:38.2, while Taylee Foulger was 51st with a time of 26:49.9. Denver's Ana-Karin Maeki brought home first place, finishing the course in 18:11.4

The Invitational continues today as Sanders and Foulger compete in the 10K and Charvatova, Oesterlund and Martain move to the slalom.
