Lady Bronco Tennis Team Heads South to Utah

Boise State's women's tennis team was victorious in two of three matches last weekend in Oregon. This week, the Broncos take on Weber State and BYU.

Boise State women's tennis team, which entered the national top 75 on the strength of their showing in Oregon, travels to Utah this weekend. Coach Mark Tichenour's team meets Weber State the 3rd and BYU the 4th.

Weber State lost to New Mexico State (4-3) and Nevada (5-2) of the WAC as well as #39 UNLV 7-0.

BYU is 5-0 this season and ranked 22nd in the country. Defeated Utah State of the WAC 6-1, Washington State 4-3, #26 Washington 6-1, #41 Colorado 4-3 and #49 Denver 4-3. The Cougars are led by Olga Boulytcheva, the #33 player in women's college tennis, who sports a 20-4 singles record. She defeated Megan Bjorkman of Boise State 6-0, 6-1 in the BYU Invitational last season. Boulytcheva battled the #1 player in the nation, Diana Srebovic of Florida, in the ITA National Indoor Championships in November before losing 6-4, 7-6. She owns five wins over top 100 players.

Bjorkman, a senior, heads the Bronco lineup. She went 2-1 last week, with her only loss being a hard-fought decision (6-3, 7-5) to #26 Dominika Dieskova of Oregon.
