Boise State hosts Sacramento State in women's gymnastics at Taco Bell Arena tonight. The meet will include a salute to outgoing Bronco seniors Kea Cuaresma and Katie Dinsmore, who will be performing at home for the final time in their careers. Cuaresma has been a versatile performer for Boise State, taking first in the floor exercises and tying for all-around against nationally-ranked BYU earlier this season. Her regional qualifying score of 9.75 on the vault is 4th in the Western Athletic Conference and 18th in the West.
Last year, Cuaresma earned All-Western Gymnastics Conference honors in vault, bars and floor. Her season bests included 9.875 on the vault and a 9.875 on floor. Kea was also a Western Conference All-Academic honoree. In 2004, she was all-conference after finishing fifth on vault at the league championships with a 9.8. Cuaresma set a career high of 9.975 on the vault her freshman year in winning the conference championship. She also was co-champion on the floor with a 9.9.
Kea shares the school record in floor exercises with a 9.95. She has five scores of 9.9 or above on vault in her Boise State career.Dinsmore finished 2nd on floor and vault against BYU this season. She's 3rd in the WAC and 15th in the West in floor exercises with a regional qualifying score of 9.705.
Dinsmore was named to the Western Conference All-Academic team in each of the three previous seasons. Her top marks included 9.85 on the vault and another 9.85 on the beam. She set a career high on floor exercises as a freshman with a 9.8.
