Hall, Tadman and Browning Receive Honors

Boise State seniors Korey Hall and Andrew Browning and junior Marty Tadman have received preseason recognition from NationalChamps.net. Hall was named to the All-America second team by the popular internet site, while Browning and Tadman were given honorable mention.

Boise State senior linebacker Korey Hall has been named to the Preseason All-American second team by NationalChamps.net and Bronco senior defensive tackle Andrew Browning and junior safety Marty Tadman received honorable mention.

Hall is a two-time first team All-Western Athletic Conference selection and was named to the preliminary watch list for this year's Rotary Lombardi Award and to the watch list for the 2006 Lott Trophy earlier this month. From the moment he took the field as a freshman in 2003, Hall has been a menacing force in opposing backfields. He led Boise State in tackles last year with 106, including five tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Hall also recorded two interceptions and three pass breakups.

He starred on national television against Boston College of the Big East Conference in the MPC Computers Bowl with 15 tackles. Hall's interception of a tipped pass that he ran in for a touchdown against Oregon State of the PAC-10 changed the game and enabled Boise State to down the Beavers 53-34. It was one of three picks that Hall had against former OSU and current National Football League quarterback Derek Anderson. His devastating hit on a BYU quarterback in 2004 was one of the top hits of the year.

Hall has 283 tackles in three years as a starter for Boise State to rank 15th on the school's all-time list. He needs just three more tackles to pass National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame inductee Randy Trautman (1978-81) for 14th place. Hall has totaled eight sacks, 212 tackles behind the line, eight pass breakups and five interceptions.

In his Boise State career, Hall has also made eight quarterback sacks, 21 tackles behind the line of scrimmage, eight pass breakups and five interceptions.

Browning was a second-team All-WAC selection as a junior and an honorable mention pick as a sophomore. Last season he finished eighth with a career-high 35 tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack. During his three-years at Boise State, Browning has 97 tackles, four sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss.

Browning has been named as Boise State defensive lineman of the year each of the past two seasons. As a junior, Browning had a career-high six tackles in Boise State's win over Nevada and five tackles against Oregon State. Browning has had five tackles four times during his career.

Tadman was right behind Hall last season in tackles for the Bronco defense with 101. He also had seven pass breakups, two tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery. He was named All-WAC second team by the league at the end of last year.

Offensive linement Samson Satele of Hawai'i and Kyle Young of Fresno State were both named to the NationalChamps.net first team. 2006 Bronco opponents Oregon State (kicker Alexis Serna) and Utah (defensive back Eric Weddle) placed athletes on the second team.

Among those receiving Honorable Mention from the site were Nevada senior quarterback Jeff Rowe, senior lineman Barrett Reznick, senior receiver Caleb Spencer and senior defensive back Joe Garcia, Fresno State receiver Paul Williams, Idaho kicker Mike Barrow, Utah State kick returner Tony Pennyman, Hawai'i senior lineman Tala Esera and junior receiver Davone Bess, Utah junior quarterback Brian Johnson, senior lineman Tavo Tupola and senior defensive back Casey Evans and Oregon State junior running back Yvenson Bernard and senior defensive back Sabby Piscitelli.
