Mattias Jons is a model of consistency. Jons once again broke his own school record in the hammer throw last night to win the event at the Oregon Track & Field Invitational in Eugene. Jons' throw of 230 feet, eight inches, ranks as the third best throw in the nation this year.

Spyridon Jullien of Virginia Tech has set the pace this season with a heave of 238 feet, three inches, while his teammate Moshen Anani has the second best throw at 231-4.

Boise State's Simon Wardhaugh placed fifth in the hammer last night with a throw of 198-9. Like Jons, Wardhaugh is well over the mark needed to qualify for the NCAA's.

Image hosting by PhotobucketBecky Guyette added her name to the list of Broncos who will be competing in the West Regionals next month, running the women's 5,000 meters in 16 minutes, 40.65 seconds to take fifth in the event. Guyette's time is the third best all-time at Boise State. The West Regionals take place May 26-27 in Sacramento.

In other results, Ty Axtman took 10th in the "A" section of the men's 3,000 steeplechase. Competition wraps up today with a full slate of action.
