The Boise State tennis team goes for a back-to-back Western Athletic Conference title when they take on Fresno State in today's title match. Both teams recorded shutout wins in yesterday's semifinals, with the Broncos whitewashing New Mexico State 4-0 and Fresno State putting away Hawai'i by the same score. The match is set for this morning at 11 A.M. at Boise State's Appleton Tennis Center.

Boise State put the pressure on the Aggies early by winning the doubles point. All-Americans Thomas Schoeck and Luke Shields had a tough time with New Mexico State's Stepjan Beg and Brice Magonnou but prevailed 8-5. The Bronco pair advanced to 22-9 this season. Clancy Shields and Steve Robertson moved to 18-4 on the year with an 8-4 win at #2 doubles.

Sophomore Eric Roberson scored a nice straight sets victory and Luke Shields followed with a win at #1 singles. Despite playing an unranked opponent, Shields still had to go three sets to get the win. Senior Ehren Vaughan then put the Broncos into the WAC final with a straight set win at #6 singles. Boise State moved to 19-6 and can notch their 20th win of the season with a victory at the Appleton Center today.
