Boise State freshman Mandi Hedberg fired a 2-under 70 to jump into the lead after two days of the Western Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships in San Jose. With a two round total of 147 (+3), Hedberg leads a trio of players by three strokes heading into today's final round. Hedberg's round yesterday set a school record for the lowest single-round score in a conference championship.
Junior Lindsey Huebert also moved up the leaderboard with a 78 yesterday to climb into 14th. Huebert is two strokes out of the top 10.
Other than Hedberg and Huebert, however, the rest of the Bronco team is struggling mightily. Boise State is in last place with a combined team score of 637--that's five strokes behind sixth place Hawai'i and 10 behind #5 Idaho.
