Boise State Gets Nine Wins For 5th Year

With each win, Boise State keeps advancing in the history books. The Broncos are now one of 41 schools in the history of college football to win nine or more games for five consecutive seasons.

With its 45-21 defeat of Fresno State Wednesday night, Boise State became one of just 31 schools since 1920 that have have won nine or more games in at least five consecutive seasons. Another 10 did in prior to 1920. Put another way, only 26 teams in the history of college football have won nine or more games for more consecutive seasons than the Boise State Broncos.

Boise State is one of 27 schools in this group. The most recent team to do this was Oklahoma, which won nine or more games from 2000-2004, but failed to do so last year. Sooner teams have accomplished the feat three times in the school's history as have Tennessee, Michigan and Ohio State.

Boise State became the third college football team this season to win nine games, joining Michigan and Ohio State.

The leaders of the all-time marks for consecutive seasons of nine or more wins appear below.
