Is Boise State in the market for a JC RB?

Prior to, and most likely again after, the upcoming Christmas and New Years, one of Mississippi's top junior college running backs is planning to visit a boat-load of four-year colleges to find one that will suit his educational and football tastes. Boise State could potentially find itself on that list...

Cameron Montgomery, a running back who just completed his final season rushing for the Northeast Mississippi Junior College football team, has the Broncos on his list.

But beware, Bronco fans: Montgomery has not talked to any of the Boise State coaches recently.

Despite the lack of contact, Montgomery still says he has connections to the Broncos' program.

Montgomery met one of the Broncos' assistant football coaches earlier this year, and they started a dialogue of luring the former Texas prep running back to become a Bronco.

"He was one who pulled me in," Montgomery said of the unnamed assistant coach.

Does that mean Montgomery is getting closer toward making his choice? "No decision," said Montgomery on four-year college choices.

He does admit that there are other colleges looking at him; included are quite a few Division I and I-AA schools that include, among others, Illinois and Houston.

This past season, Montgomery's Northeast team posted a 3-6 record. Now that it's the off-season for playing, but it's the on-season for four-year college hunting for a stout running back like Montgomery.

"(I'm going to) wait and see, and go from there," Montgomery said.

Montgomery hasn't received an official invite to visit Boise State.. yet, but the interest is obviously there from at least half of the equation.
