If Boise State played a bad game against Louisiana Tech, they did not last night against Idaho. The Bronco women were relentless against the North Idaho school, not settling for anything until the final buzzer sounded.
After a disappointing home loss
to Louisiana Tech, the Boise State women's basketball team went into Moscow and destroyed Idaho 70-40 last night. Coach Gordy Presnell's team raced to a 16-4
lead, holding the Moscow school to one field goal for nearly nine minutes.
Jackie Lee paced the Lady
Broncos with 10 first-half points, as Boise State led 34-22 at the intermission. The Broncos used a balanced attack to slowly
dismantle the Vandals in the second half.
Idaho was able to score just four points in
the final 11 and a half minutes of the game.
Jessica Thompson finished with
18 points to lead Boise State, including 15 in the second half. Michelle Hessing continued her hot play with
14 points and five rebounds, Lee finished with 12 points and seven rebounds,
and sophomore Rebecca Kepilino paced the Bronco rebounding effort with
nine. Liz Witte and Katie Madison led Idaho with 11 points each.
Boise State advances to 9-1 in the WAC and 18-5 overall, while Idaho slides to 2-9 and 5-17. The Broncos will entertain San Jose State (2-8, 3-21) in the Bronco Gym Saturday
night at 7.
