Broncos Take Care Of Gauchos

The Boise State tennis team continued to win in California, disposing of #73 UC-Santa Barbara today. A major test awaits Coach Greg Patton's team tomorrow afternoon, when the #15 USC Trojans host the Broncos.

The #18 Boise State tennis team whipped #73 UC-Santa Barbara 6-1in California to advance to 7-0 this season, setting up a battle with #15 USC tomorrow in Los Angeles.

For the seventh consecutive match, the Broncos won the doubles point.  Clancy Shields and Steve Robertson won handily 8-2, Luke Shields and Stanley Sarapanich duplicated that 8-2 score, then Piotr Dilaj and Eric Roberson made it a sweep with an 8-4 victory.

#15 Luke Shields' singles record remains unblemished at 7-0 with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over UCSB's Bijan Hejazi.  Brother Clancy advanced to 5-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Jack Hui.  Sophomore Roberson is now 3-0 with his two-set win, while Brent Werbeck moved to 3-1 on the year with a straight sets win as well.  Dilaj also prevailed to move his record to 4-1. 

The Top 20 showdown between the Broncos and Trojans is set for 1:15 tomorrow afternoon.
