Beauty Wins At Taco Bell Arena

Boise State's gymnastics team captured their first WAC win of the season, downing Southern Utah in the annual "Beauty and the Beast" event at Taco Bell Arena.

The Boise State gymnastics team posted their best score of the season, downing Southern Utah at Taco Bell Arena tonight.  The Bronco women finished with a 193.2 to the Thunderbirds' 192.975 to improve their season record to 2-7 and 1-7 in the Western Athletic Conference.

Sophomore Shaniece Craft scored a season-high 9.825 to win the vault, while freshman DeAvera Todd captured second with a 9.8.  Todd and Katie Griffis tied for first on bars with 9.8's.  Boise State really came through on the beam, posting a 48.875 as a team, their best effort of the season.  Kristin Aldrich led the way for Coach Sam Sandmire's team by tying her career best with a 9.9.  Freshman Yvette Leizorek finished the evening by winning the floor event with a 9.850. 

Boise State's next competition is February 17th in Denton, Texas when the Broncos take on Texas Women's University and Illinois-Chicago.
