Bronco Track Team Off To Fast Start In Nampa

The Boise State track team got off to a good start at the Bronco Invitational in Nampa tonight. Eleni Kafourou posted another NCAA provisional qualifying mark for the Lady Broncos on Day One of the competition.

Eleni Kafourou and Logan Meyer paced the Boise State track and field team in the first day of the Boise State Team Invitational at Jackson's Indoor Track in Nampa.  Kafourou set a career best in winning the long jump with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 20 feet, 2.25 inches.  Kafourou's leap is the third best in Bronco history.  Meyer captured the pole vault crown with a mark of 15-7, edging out teammate Heigo Nurmsalu who cleared the same height due to fewer misses.

In preliminary heats, Nataucha Lowry led the field with a 7.84 in the 60-meters, Megan Olivetti was tops in the 200 with a 24.58 and Kayleen McDowell also topped qualifiers with a 57.36 in the 400.  Caleb Cazier was the top qualifier in the men's 400 with a time of 49.65.
