Corral Conversations: Bronson Durrant

Bronson Durrant didn't have the Senior season he envisioned back when he committed to Boise State. As his team marched it's way to a State Championship, Durrant watched the last half of the season from the sideline, nursing a knee injury that has already required surgery.. but don't worry Bronco fans, this is one OLineman that's driven to succeed both on, and off the field.

"I played in about five games this year," Bronson Durrant informed me at the onset of our conversation.

Bronson went on to explain that, "I ended up having surgery mid-way through the season, I tore my lateral meniscus.. but I'm going to have a perfect knee after (rehabbing)."

Despite the set back, Bronson left no doubt as to how things are progressing. "Everything is going real good right now. I'm weightlifting and I'm going to get into running pretty soon."

Despite the rigorous rehab schedule, Bronson took time out of his schedule to visit Boise State this past weekend, (January 11-13), and left with an even firmer resolve to become a Bronco.

"It went great, I liked it. I just was really impressed with everything overall, how friendly people are and the whole town of Boise, it was just a nicer, cleaner town. The facilities at Boise State and the academic situation they have there.. I'm going to get a degree in accounting and finance."

Bronson, who hails from Eugene, OR. was hosted on his visit by another College town player, Jarrell Root, and was recruited primarily by current DC and former Duck Justin Wilcox.

Not one to sit back and wait for things to happen for him, Bronson indicated that he has already applied for admission to Boise State.

It's because of that aggressive attitude, as well has his dominant play on the field that so many schools were attracted to Bronson at the beginning of the recruiting season.

"I was getting recruited by Cal, Oregon, and Oregon State, besides Boise State" but ironically, it might have been an earlier injury to his wrist that kept him on the sideline for a couple of games that might have scared some of them away.

While the injuries might have led other schools to pull back, it led Bronson right into the welcoming arms of Boise State.. and that should lead to years of success for both Bronson, and for the Broncos.
