Lady Broncos, Aggies Set To Dual Tomorrow

In a game that will greatly influence the regular season aspirations for both teams, the Boise State women's basketball team hosts New Mexico State tomorrow night in Taco Bell Arena.

Boise State hosts New Mexico State tomorrow night in a key Western Athletic Conference women's basketball game in Taco Bell Arena.  The battle will feature the league's top offense (Boise State) against the #1 defense of the Aggies.  The winner will remain no worse than second place in the league, while the loser will drop to fourth place.

For the Lady Broncos to win, they must shoot the ball well.  In last year's WAC championship game, poor shooting allowed New Mexico State to stay in the game.  Boise State is #1 in the WAC and 25th nationally in scoring at 74.2 points a game and average 40.2% shooting from the floor.  Coach Gordy Presnell's team is also money from the free-throw line, hitting 72 percent of their shots for second in the WAC.  Boise State is also 25th in the nation in three-pointers, hitting 6.9 per game.

Madison Spence led four scorers in double figures as the Aggies put away Boise State 79-65 in Las Cruces, New Mexico in the teams' first encounter.  Preseason All-WAC honoree Sherell Neal was a force as well for New Mexico State in that game with 14 points and 18 rebounds.  The Lady Aggies average 68.5 points per game (4th in the WAC) and feature the league's top defense, allowing just 62.0 points a contest.

The Broncos come into the game riding an eight-game winning streak and have won 12 in a row at Taco Bell Arena.  Boise State is 8-2 in the WAC, one-half game behind Fresno State (8-1).  The Aggies are right on the Broncos' heels at 7-2 in conference play.  Boise State leads the all-time series 9-6.

Tip-off is 7:05 p.m. tomorrow night.  Pack the Bell to support Coach Presnell's Lady Broncos!
