Pascarella Will Visit Boise State

Centennial HS OL Gavin Pascarella (Corona, CA) has seen his stock continue to rise throughout the summer. He's taking his time and he plans on making an informed decision about his future college destination later this year. He spoke to about his college recruitment and his interest in Boise State.

Centennial HS OL Gavin Pascarella (Corona, CA) is a bigtime OL prospect and Boise State has taken a strong interest in him. "I'd say Boise State is the most involved at this point," he said.

Pascarella (6'5, 260) is a three star recruit by and the #63 OT prospect in the country. He holds offers from Boise State, UTEP, Nebraska, Air Force, Navy, and Army at this point. He is receiving interest from other schools as well. "Colorado, Syracuse, Stanford, and UCLA are also recruiting me," he said.

Gavin received the offer from Boise State a couple months ago. He is being recruited by Coach (Viliami) Tuivai. "Coach Tuivai came up to our school," he said. "He's a great guy. He's really putting in the extra effort. One time he was eating dinner with his family and he stepped aside to call me."

Pascarella has been in close contact with the coaching staff and recently spoke to Chris Petersen for the first time. "I talked to Coach Pete over the phone just a few days ago," he said. "I had never talked to him before that. He seems like a great guy and a great coach. I would like to get to know him and meet him on an official visit," he added.

Boise State fans will be happy to know that Pascarella has the Broncos in his top five. "Boise State is definitely in my top five," he said. He is hoping to schedule an official visit soon. "I'm hoping to make a trip to Boise State for the Bowling Green game," he said. One other school that will surely get an official visit from Pascarella is Nebraska. "I'm hoping to schedule an official visit to Nebraska soon as well."

Pascarella is very familiar with Boise State and those close to him also like what the program has to offer. "Boise State's football program speaks for itself," he said. "All of my coaches think highly of them and I have heard great things about them. I'm excited to see it for myself on my official visit."

The timetable for his decision could be as early as midseason. "I want to take all five of my official visits," he said. "I want to know I'm making a responsible decision. There is a chance that I will make my decision by midseason," he added.

Gavin is the true definition of a student-athlete as he carries a 4.45 weighted GPA, 1820 SAT score, and an ACT score of 28. "Academics will be a big part of my decision," he said. "I can't play football forever. I want to be prepared for a career after I graduate," Pascarella added.

Pascarella has taken a few unofficial visits. "I went to Stanford and UCLA," he said. "Those visits were great. I've also been to a couple UCLA games."

Gavin and his teammates are hoping to continue their winning ways this upcoming season. "We were 13-2 last season," he said. "We won our division bracket and lost to De La Salle by a TD." The game against De La Salle was a thriller as Centennial fell behind by three TDs early in the game. "We almost came back and won," he said. "We just came up a little short." Pascarella has just one major goal this upcoming season. "We just want to go back to state this season," he said. "Personally, I'd just like to get bigger, stronger, and faster."
