Is Price right for Boise State?

QB Keith Price (Bellflower, CA) is considered to be one of the best QB prospects in the State of California. He's currently committed to Washington but has stated that he will look around due to the current coaching situation. The Broncos have recently jumped back in the picture. He spoke to about his interest in Boise State and his performance on the field so far this season.

St. John Bosco HS QB Keith Price (Bellflower, CA) is currently committed to Washington. The coaching situation involving Tyrone Willingham has been a big issue in Seattle. That has caused Price to look around at other schools. "I'm going to remain committed to Washington," he said. "I'm just going to take a few other visits and make sure I'm making the best decision." Many Clemson commits took the Tigers completely off their list when Tommy Bowden resigned last week. That will not be the case with Keith Price. "I'll still listen to Washington," he said. "It all depends on who the new coach is and what system he is running," he added.

Price (6'2, 175) became Washington's first commit for the 2009 recruiting class back July 23rd. "I love the area at Washington," he said. "It felt right. I got to walk around campus and I loved it," he added.

The spread offense at Washington was also a big factor in his recruitment. Price instantly became a fan of Jake Locker the moment he saw the outstanding QB on TV. "Jake Locker is a beast," he said. "He can run. He can throw. I know he's injured but he's a real good athlete."

Price felt right at home the moment he stepped onto the turf at Husky Stadium "Husky Stadium is lovely," he said. "My goodness, it's huge. People come by boat. It's just great."

Recently, the Broncos have found themselves in need of another QB in the 2009 recruiting class. The transfer of Nick Lomax left a spot open for another QB and Boise State is hoping to fill that need. "I started receiving more interest from Boise State about two weeks ago," he said.

Price is currently being recruited by Coach (Marcel) Yates. "Coach Yates is recruiting me," he said. "He's cool. He's down to earth and I know where he's coming from."

Keith thinks very highly of the football program at Boise State. "They run a tight program," he said. "They always have a top offense and that really made me open my ears to them," Price added.

One big factor working in Boise State's favor is the fact that Will Shamburger (current Bronco commit) and Keith Price are very close friends. "It would mean the world to me if I could play with Will again," he said. "We grew up together and went to all the same schools. That would be amazing."

The blue field is always a hot topic with recruits and that's certainly the story with Price as well. "I love the blue field," he said. "It would be great to play on it. I play as Boise State all the time in NCAA Football," he added.

Price, Shamburger, and their teammates are having an unbelievable season. "We're 6-0," he said. The most amazing aspect of that record is the fact that St. John Bosco was picked to finish last in their division. "We play in a tough division," he said. "We didn't have a good season last year." The schedule doesn't get any easier as they'll play Orange Lutheran this Friday. "We have to stick to our gameplan," he said. "Keep it simple and treat it like any other game."

Keith has stepped up and become a leader for his team. His production so far this season is a big reason why they are 6-0. "I've got 17 TD passes and 8 rushing TDs," he said. "I've got about 1,300 passing yards and 391 rushing yards," he added. He's on pace to have an unbelievable season.

Price is right there at the top of the list when you look at current QB prospects for Boise State. Fans can expect Price to hear even more from the coaches at Boise State over the next few weeks. They are hopeful that they will receive an official visit from him. will have updates on Keith Price throughout his senior season.
