Shamburger Wavers From Commitment

Will Shamburger committed to Boise State over the summer, but recently has decided to step back from that commitment and take more trips. Boise State still remains high on his list of potential teams, but 3 more teams have moved into the mix. He spoke to BroncoCountry.com about his decision to reopen his recruitment, and where Boise State stands with him now.

St. John Bosco HS S Will Shamburger (Bellflower, CA) has decided to decommitment from Boise State. "I decommitted about a month or so ago," he said. "I want to take my official visits and give other schools a chance as well," he added.

Shamburger called Coach (Marcel) Yates and gave him the news of the decommitment. "I called Coach Yates," he said. "Coach Yates didn't want to pressure me. He just wants me to pick the right school," he added.

The Broncos are still in the mix for Shamburger's services. "I'd say Boise State, Utah, and Arizona State are even right now," he said. Shamburger will visit Arizona State next Saturday with Keith Price. "ASU told me they might offer," he said. Will also has a visit scheduled to Washington State in January.

Will and his teammates finished up their season with a 7-3 record. Shamburger was a playmaker on both offense and defense. "I had 40 tackles and 2 INTs on defense," he said. "On offense, I had 34 catches for 590 yards and 8 TDs."

Shamburger is still a big fan of Boise State. "I like the area, the environment, and the fans," he said. "I really like everything about Boise State," he added.

The Broncos really impressed Shamburger this season. "I'm impressed with their team," he said. "I think they should have been ranked higher. They should be right up there with SC and Alabama since they are undefeated."

One Bronco in particular has caught the eye of Will Shamburger. "I really enjoy watching Kyle Wilson play," he said. "He's a tremendous player. I always wanted to play with him. That would be really fun," he added.

What does Shamburger bring to the offense and defense? "I bring momentum and I keep my team pumped up," he said. "I make sure others keep their responsibilities and I tell them to keep their heads up when they make a mistake."

It'll be interesting to see which school Shamburger chooses at the end of his recruitment. It appears that Boise State is still right in the mix.
